I have found that Rush fans not only "deviate from the norm, " but "elevate from the norm." It's simply in their Vital Signs.

The instrumentation is mainly what makes me a huge RUSH fan. No gimmicks no fancy clothes no dancers just pure talent. They can play for an hour without singing a single word and I would be totally entertained.

As Geddy himself once said, they were the “world’s biggest cult band”. Their fans are like kindred spirits, and you could really see that at the concerts, ages teens to 70s. They spanned multiple generations, and it was like a magic formula.

My uncle was the biggest fan of Rush that the world has ever known.
He died Aug 2022.
He looked very much like Geddy Lee.

Growing up, I was an outsider, not understood at home, isolated at school. When I would get home and put on my headphones and dropped the needle on a Rush album, thr lyrics spoke to me and I felt like there were others out there like me.

Engineers love Rush. I studied engineering at Rensselaer and that's when I got into Rush. I had heard and liked a few of their songs beforehand, but in college, I really started to follow them. They had a huge following there. Their first stop on the Test for Echo tour in '96 was in Albany, less than a half hour drive from RPI. I got several friends together and we all bought tickets as soon as they went on sale. It was a great show.

I have Rush on my car sound almost everyday . I will never compare a band with another cause averyone has its style and way of thinking . I love spyro gyra, love play four, love pink floyd, love journey, love kansas but rush....is from another planet . If you hear them you just get transported to a very different and unexplained level where there doesnt exists any other kind of music . The music, the lyrics are simply something that only a Rush fan will understand .
