"Nasal polyps are actually outgrowth of the lining mucous that is the lining of the inside the nose and sinuses when they tend to spell up and then come and occupy the space in the nasal cavity then they are called as polyps. Common causes for polyps formation are uncontrolled allergy that is allergic rhinitis somebody having allergy of nose when don't control it for very long time then they have the formation of polyps. There is also another entity called as antrochoanal polyp that means it takes origin from the Sinus called the maxillary sinus, the sinus which is situated below the eye, so this polyp take origin from the maxillary sinus and then start growing into the nose and then it actually grope behind into the back portion of the nose and then next fall into the oral cavity for this is called as antrochoanal polyp. The antrochoanal polyp is secondary to repeated infections so the common causes of either infection or allergy, now there is a combination of both and occasionally we can see what are called as polypoidal reasons that means they will look like polyps but totally different conditions like that maybe tumour sitting behind Polyps that can be called as bleeding polyps of
nose that tend to bleed a lot. This kind of polyps from the nasal cavity is called as meningocele that is covering of the brain is called meningocele. This can sometimes prolapse or come out into the nasal cavity and it can appear like a polyp so these are all things which need to be taken care off or kept under consideration when a diagnosis of nasal polyp is made and this have to be ruled out and generally be relied upon by doing Endoscopy and getting CT Scan is done to rule out these conditions.
