Classic movie Born Yesterday. "Gin!" Scene. Made in 1950 with Judy Holliday as Billie and Broderick Crawford as Harry. One of the BEST scenes of the movie

Judy Holliday had the amazing ability to play the comical, ditzy blonde while at the same time giving a genuinely good dramatic performance. Not an easy thing to pull off. And notice that the first three minutes of this scene are all done in one, single take. Amazing.

She had the greatest timing EVER. A genius in her real life. Could solve a New York Times Crossword in NO TIME.

a great old film comedy & a message all in one. I must have seen it at least 15 times since I was a kid. Judy's birthday June 21 1921!

Broderick Crawford makes this scene work. His reaction shots and his one line, "Do you mind" is the best punchline of a 50s movie. Shame the Judy Holiday and he didn't do another movie together. Another great movie for Judy is "Solid Gold Cadillac." She and Paul Douglas are great together. She does well with big burly men.

The way his reaction builds and builds and builds until, finally, "DO YA MIND???" LOLOL

He was so mean...lol. I could watch this movie once a week, they're both hilarious but Judy shines.

Judy Holliday died way too young at the age of 43 in 1965.

I crack up every single time. She was brilliant in this. Her Oscar was so well deserved. And the best part of this film was how her character ended up in the end. She was smart already but only got smarter (she said she was dumb but I wasn't convinced). I love it when ignorant bums who treat women like he did her end up getting kicked to the proverbial curb...and end up with the good guy.

Beat out Bette Davis in All About Eve and Gloria Swanson in Sunset Boulevard for that Oscar!

Always a great scene.Ms. Holliday was up against heavyweight actresses for best Oscar, including Bette Davis, Ann Baxter (All about Eve), and Gloria Swanson (Sunset Blvd.) and
Eleanor Parker. She won.
