This game is incredibly deep and well-balanced - what happens if we push that to its breaking point by ignoring all its basic mechanics? Hey there guys, NovemberJoy here, and welcome to the Reptile Rumble! Today, let's find out if you can beat Final Fantasy 5 without jobs or armor! Instead of Four Job Fiesta, I decided to do NO Job Fiesta, and the results might just be interesting!

"The party becomes so desperate they try casting spells they don't even know" swiftly followed by "all 0 of his skills" was a one-two comedy punch that really got me

imagine being so tilted at the prospect of your parents telling you to get a job that you friggin save the entire world on a cross-planet journey just to avoid doing it.

Opening line "getting a job is hard" was way too relatable

"Can't get a job without armor, can't afford armor without a job." -the 2020s economy.

39:27 there’s an even cheaper strategy for taking out the sea trench bosses.

None of them are immune to instant death. One of the Magic Lamp’s summons is Odin. The lamp version of Odin will always attempt to use Zantetsuken (inflicts instant death on all enemies) instead of Gungnir.

This means that if you use the Magic Lamp to summon Odin, he will instantly kill all 3 bosses in the fight.

This is what you want a challenge run to become. Having to use unusual strategies youd never bother with normally, having throwaway items be godsends.

Subbed in the hopes that the rest of your vids are as cool as this. Gonna go binge watch and find out.

Thank you for playing FFV, sometimes it feels left to the sides while the other entries in the series get much more attention.

Literally my (current) favorite take on the job system. I loved having Bartz as the back row support while Lenna was the physical DPS.

Reflecting a physical buff spell that supposed to prevent casting as a downside off an ally onto the magic boss, then using a normally impossible to use vulnerability to prevent them from using the buff, is such an insane strategy that I can do nothing but applaud the immense creativity.

That battle with Omniscient was GENIUS! Omg, that was SO cool

Been playing V for years and still learn new things. Also for the Neo Exdeath fight the unicorn part (or the Grand Cross part) is vunerable to Break, so that could've helped you out alot.

Jobless and underprepared... thanks to Joy, we've finally got relatable protagonists in a video game!

Mediocre jokes aside, great work! I don't know much about Final Fantasy (outside of *that* one most know), but your skill and effort still shows throughout the video. I hope it blows up like the others!

I love that FFV gives you so many tools that you can (with difficulty) completely circumvent the need to use its primary system.

My hats off to you. I imagine this took at least 3x the amount of time to beat it, but it was cool to watch this and see someone do it

"Final Fantasy 5, but I play it like Final Fantasy 2" is this challenge in a shellnut, and I love it

22:33 Blood Sword is great with Rapid Fire or Aim, that way it can't miss. But for this run it's useless, since you can't use those abilities.

Nice video! I'm glad you came up with strategies when you hit roadblocks instead of just grinding at every turn.

ITs really interesting to see how challenging these bosses really could be, if we hadn't figured out ways to absolutely break the hell out of the game with class combos. Its a really cool way of the game being balanced. Bosses are hard, but you constantly have access to many ways of being insanely OP, so its okay.

0:25 "Incredibly balanced gameplay"

Honestly, the gameplay design in this game is so good that's its possible to beat the game with every job by itself, and with a single character. Except 1, and that's Berserker. Solo Character Berserker can make it to the final boss, but beating it is so RNG heavy you could beat the game solo as every other job(Even the GBA ones) before it defeats Neo Exdeath.

This was a good watch, and a great use of Freelancer's biggest strength: the use of any weapon type, and using it to cast those much needed spells.
