25. Lives with parents. Wants debt. Wants to get a masters. Wants to be a teacher. Dude, go get a good job with the degree you have, and maybe you will decide to ditch that ignorant idea of becoming a low income earning teacher.

I make 40k and can save at least 10k/y. The degree is 20k, just save money and buy it, be patient.

Go get a job as a classroom aid. That will open your eyes. If after a year of that you still want to teach then get a masters. Too many teachers quit in the first few years. You don't want to be one of them.

A graduate degree for teaching rarely makes financial sense given how little public school teachers generally make. Private schools pay better but Dave is right, there are other ways to teach without necessarily becoming a teacher.

He'll have more degrees than a thermometer.

I have a "real" job and no debt and HATE my job. Oh and I only bring home around 45k with no room for movement, and i do have a "company" car. Sometimes the advice Dave gives isn't real world. I'm freaking miserable in my current job, but I have a family to provide for hence why I drag myself to the office day in and day out. I can't get ahead and would have to take a great financial risk to do something else.

The caller's income of $20k a year is ((( POVERTY ))) I make more than 400 plus percent and benefit from legal tax write-offs!

Dave is against all debt.

Good debt= Real Estate investments that produce positive cash flow, capital appreciation, tax write-offs via depreciation and loan payment from quality tenants!

I agree with dave, go down the corporate training road, there is some decent money there.

I have friends who did Teach for America with non-teaching degrees. And TFA also funded their graduate school education. So that's an option.

This guy sounds slow - not in a disrespectable sort of way. 25, living at home, makes 20k a year, 9k car, taking "time off work", wants to take loan for teaching which pays nothing, he is not mentally stable.

So I'm a highschooler and I want to go into concept art/3d rendering. Should I go to university and go into debt to get a degree in it? If I already know how to draw and currently learning how to 3d render? Is college worth it for that field?

This dude doesn't seem all that bright. 25 years old and still living with his parents, and now he wants to blow $20k (I think that figure is underestimated) to come out and make a whopping $30k a year teaching. I wouldn't be surprised if he does come out with a teaching degree he's going to hate it and he'll want to go back to college yet again. Wake up dude. Use your business degree, you can have a decent career from that.

If he doesn't mind and his parents don't mind, then why not just get a real job and save the money while he's living at home.

Dave Ramsey sounds like a conservative. I wonder if he's a Trump supporter? If so, I may have to stop listening
