Geralyn Ritter from New Jersey survived one of the worst train crashes to date. She was on Amtrak 188 when the train, going 106 mph, derailed circling a curve designed for 50 mph. Eight people died, and hundreds were injured. After the accident, Geralyn's husband, Jonathan, learned of a Jane Doe at a Philadelphia hospital. Her injuries were so bad that he didn't recognize her. "Life can change in a second," she said to Inside Edition Digital's Andrea Swindall

The fact that she survived having her lower abdomen organs vastly shifted from where they were is a miracle in my eyes. It’s just crazy how that even happened!

It’s an absolute MIRACLE this lady survived. All of those fatal injuries and she was still able to breathe and live long enough until help. One strong lady right here

the joy of this woman in her face talking about it is an indicator that she luckily overcame the emotional baggage of that terrible trauma and moved on with her life. What a great inspiration! I admire her so much

I don’t think I could have gotten on a train again, especially the same one. This woman has an amazing attitude.

She is still so lively and able to look back on everything with laughter. What a strong and incredible woman.

She is one tough cookie... To go through all that and still be able to smile is astonishing.
All the very best to her and her family.

It means a lot to hear her talk about the mental side of medical trauma. I’m a young cancer patient and she’s such a beacon of hope for me after going through so much.

I know she said it's not about being strong, but damn what a strong woman. Not many people can speak about such a traumatic event lightly, let alone with such good humor.

She’s such a wonderful speaker, with a beautiful outlook and take on her situation. She truly would be a wonderful public speaker, or even an optimistic comedic for helping others through these traumatic experiences!!! What a truly amazing speaker

I wasn’t in a train wreck but I am going through major trauma with multiple major surgeries on my back, pelvis and leg. Still have another surgery on my back and pelvis to walk again. I’m just trying to make it through, everything you said is all too real for me. You give me some hope 🙏🏼💕
