When I was in college there was a homeless gentleman near my church. Once I realized he was there every single week, I started buying him a couple drinks and snacks before heading into church. I had some awesome conversations with him over the course of a couple years. He was such a kind man and went through so much in his lifetime, it felt great to see the smile on his face each Sunday morning when he’d see me walking up with the bag of goodies. 💜

This reminds me of a time when a homeless man came up to me and asked me if I could spare any change. I said to him "I haven't got any change on me" to which he replied "ok, well cheers anyway" and as he started to walk off I said "so you better have a note", then I took out a £10 note I had and gave it to him and he just threw his arms around me and hugged me and said "thank you" again and again. I'm now in a position years later of not even having any change to give anyone but the joy of that memory gives me hope that things will get better.
