Cutting Thyme

Thyme is a short bushy perennial herb that comes in several varieties. Cut or prune these plants using the top down method on each stem, cutting just above the intersection of two leaves on a stem.

Because it’s a perennial that we use in small amounts, pruning thyme is less critical than herbs like basil, mint and rosemary.

Also, thyme leaves don’t change much in flavour after they flower, so you can enjoy those pretty little blossoms and the herb will still taste great.
