"Until next time, I'm Tom Vasel."
Am I the only one who always thinks that he's going to continue being 'Tom Vasel' only until next time? =D

Tom, thanks so very much for the addition of Dean's segment on insuring your board games. it's a subject I've been pondering lately, and I'm looking forward to Board Game Social's future segments on the topic on upcoming Board Game Breakfast episodes.

Super impressed with Chaz's logical follow-up question to last week's feedback! I'm really expecting a lot of the feedback to change this week from last week. Chaz is my surprise fave on BGB for segments like this. <3

Regarding the Dead of Winter question. That a non-betrayer would betray the group seems odd to me thematically, so we play with losing as a non-betrayer by not completing your secret objective, but the group doing the main objective is sort of a "lesser victory" while anyone who does both gets a greater. By it being a co-op game I think this works well. This makes the spirit of the game come out much better, and makes it more balanced. Of course stalling the victory is always a possibility and we have honestly not had anyone go all out betrayer yet without actually being one.

+Chaz--Armadillo Peanut Butter. I often pause your segments to read the lists that scroll by too quickly or subtle subtitles. Keep it up!

Chad, I had the same situation happen to my group when playing Dead of Winter recently. I had the Betrayal objective and I ended up being found out and exiled by the others. My exile objective was not feasible to complete so I then felt compelled to stay within the theme of my original secret objective to be a jerk to the good guys and make them lose. I succeeded in this and everybody lost. No one there felt like I had made a "jerk move, " however. We all thought that it would've been a little more odd for me to just be exiled and then go on my merry way and die alone in the cold instead of exacting my revenge on the colony for throwing me out. :)

DoW: If a game eliminates a player and leaves them in the game, but in clear opposition(both in theme and mechanic) to the rest of the players, then I would consider it like being turned into an antagonist. Now your job is to bungle up the players, you are basically playing on the side of the board.

I like your new segment going over the top selling games. These will be interesting to watch again as time goes by.

Hey Tom, I know it would take more editing but adding a picture of the board game covers for the new Games Sold segment would help.

Chaz: The real question of a jerk move is less about whether or not it's "legit" in terms of the game, but whether or not the game group is willing to continue playing it without house-ruling a fix for it once it shows up. It only "breaks" the game if people choose to stop playing it because of it.

Chaz,
A quick story about Dead of Winter. A 5 player game, the objective manageable. The crises were all handled. All this achieved through team work. Guns had been mad-grabbed, then passed from player to player. Each round the guns made their pass to all hands and zombies littered the board no more.
Then, as we were one turn from the end, our morality tottering.
My wife takes her turn, the guns passed to her just a moment before. She turns her sights from the undead to her fellow "team mates" she slaughters her compatriots and reveals her end goal.
She wanted guns. She wanted us to lose.
We, the players, had literally handed her her win condition each round.
The rest of the table stares blankly at each other, then we turned our gaze slowly to my wife. A sinister grin slowly spread across her glowing face. She chuckled. The rest of the table burst into raucous laughter!
We had never had a game with such tension and narrative. We still bring this up, many months later, when we play.

Love the new segment on games sold Tom!  I am always curios about that.  Please keep the segment going.  :)

On Chaz's question, i believe its an insight into the type of person you are. It does reflect the atmosphere of the game. Personally if i were in that situation i think spock said it best. "The needs of the many, outway the needs of the few. Unless you're a traitor then screw those people." .... i think thats what he said anyway.

Sam - I am always sad to see that copy of Quantum sitting behind you unopened. I put it on my wishlist after the Top Ten Dice Games, and then finally got it for my birthday last week. My senior pastor and I (the associate pastor) have been taking breaks from our work each day to get in a 1v1 game. Super fun. I would love to see you do a review.
Thanks for all you do. I appreciate you sharing your experiences playing with your Youth Ministry. We regularly get together for board games as well.

@Whitleypedia Surprised that "Black Fleet" wasn't mentioned: pirate ships attacking and stealing goods from merchant ships, pick up and delivery, burying booty, great looking ships and metal coins... lots of fun.

Anyone else think that Jason has come a long way on camera? Totally natural and relaxed, good job man

Like the segment on Games Sold.  I think it would be interesting to know which of the games were part of the "Daily Sale".  I know Star Wars Armada was last month, so I think that may have impacted the numbers.  Nice to see GMT's Churchill get some love!

Chaz, that's the main problem of semi-cooperative games and the reason why I hate them.

Laughed out loud at how edited down Sam's segment was!
