For people that it does not work and it says that they have purchased it through Apple: go to settings > Your Name > Media and purchases > Subscriptions and cancel it there

Log in to your account>>view account>>My Account drop down arrow on Left upper corner>> My Apps>>Admin>>Subscription>> Tick box on the sub you want to cancel>> hover over it to see X>> select X.
