The fact that you can clearly hear how heartbroken and terrified Herbie is during this scene…if you listen, his beeps can translate to “No, help me! No! No! Help me! Help! Help!”.

When my friend had me watch this movie with him back in 2011, right before this scene came on, he took his hat off and held it to his chest. I asked him what he was doing, and he went “shh” and pointed to the tv. Now let me tell you, I never thought I’d cry over an insignificant car on a movie, but damn.
