This song really reminds me of God's creation in Genesis. He "saw that it was good" (Genesis 1:21), then he made more and it was "very good". (Genesis 1:31)

This is similar to the progression of "I told my friends that life was sweet. I told my friends that life was very sweet".

Then later on this line is succeed by "You said that in the castle ruins". It's as if to note that God, being omniscient, knew that through the creation, innocence would be lost, that it would come to ruin. God said it was "very good" despite the surety that it would soon and ever since then not be.
