I'd say plugins and amp sims are better for recording, modeler pedals can be great to play live and actual amps just feel more authentic when you do all that stuff if you can afford them lol

My HX Stomp covers all the bases for me plus I can throw it in my backpack with some headphones to record/play while traveling for work.
I enjoy "moving some air" with the amps at home, but technology has gotten to the point where the audience definitely isn't going to tell a difference.

I bought the spark mini positive grid and i love it ... this tiny amp makes me practice and jamming all day long everywhere i need to go and the headphone sound is fire as long as you play any gear is food 😁👍

Amp sims are what have really got me playing guitar again. I looked into it, but first got a cheap fender mustang lt or whatever for some models and a small practice amp, but shortly after I went to an interface and use amp sims. The fact for less than 1k I have what's probably close to 1 million in amps(if not more honestly as I have two or three dumbles, only one I bought, rest are in packs) is amazing. I can get so many sounds with various amp sims. From the best clean sounds for purists, to the best edge of breakup for rock guys, to the best high gain for metal.
