Their initiatives have demonstrated promising outcomes and serve as inspirations and models for other non-profit housing providers.

Our 2017 winner, Ottawa Salus Corporation, was recognized for their efforts to develop Karen's Place, an extremely energy-efficient multi-residential building that houses and supports 42 tenants living with a serious mental illness in the Ottawa community.

Watch the video to learn how Karen's Place has allowed Ottawa Salus to combat stigma and improve the lives of 42 tenants, all while leading the way in energy efficiency and sustainable housing development in the Ottawa community.
