iEX Talks 2022: Using Simulation and Technology in Construction – Where Are We Going?

At VHA Innovation Experience (iEX) 2022, Devin Harrison shares how digital technology has helped VA overcome safety hazards before the construction of VA Medical Facilities begins. It started with the building of physical 3D spaces using 2D blueprints to create an online simulation called “Digital Twin Technology.” This technology enables collaboration between clinical and technical experts to design, simulate, and immerse themselves into the construction of VA Medical Facilities. Users can custom design a space to fit their own needs, test the space against mass casualty events, evaluate wait times and traffic flows, mitigate safety hazards, and immerse themselves into the building using virtual reality.
