General Grabber ATX Review

The General Grabber ATX is the next-generation, aggressive all-terrain tire that provides exceptional off-road capability and durability, balanced with impressive on-road performance. I really like this tire. We have had good luck with the previous version of this tire and that good stuff continues over to this tire.

Have these on my f150, living in ohio we sometimes get a lot of snow. Earlier this year driving through a fresh foot of snow these tires excelled. I've driven through mud ice sand clay, worst was deep mud. But hardly ever needed 4wd. Definitely recommend

I have these tires they are very good. A little loud but they are aggressive and get good traction. Great in snow.

I used a set of the predecessor AT2s on a Jeep Cherokee in all manner of conditions. The tires performed well on the highway with limited noise and the off-road performance was spectacular - mud, snow, rocky and washed-out forest roads, in Montana, for longish durations through hunting seasons - put about 70, 000 on them and I was not consistent with rotations. Fantastic tires!

You had me at “it’s like the gel sole on an ASICS running shoe”

I have been using General Grabber AT2s off road.. dirt roads, gravel roads and they have held up for me very well. I used to have BF KO2's but switched to the AT2s and found out that they are quieter than the KO2s, I will be due for a tire change at the end of this year and will definitely try these ATX tires.

One thing I really like about the General tires is they have a thick ridge right around the bead of the tire. This gives "a little" added protection to your rims if you scuff a curb. You can really see it about 1:55.

Great video. I got a set for my new 4Runner to replace the OEMs and they feel fantastic on the road. The tread is aggressive and highly functional. I now feel extremely comfortable going off-road anywhere. Maybe a little more noise, but barely; and the ride is just as good as the old road tires. (I didn't know about the soft noise barrier in the tires. That explains it.)
I'll be up in the snow later today. That Three Peak rating is a big deal for me, since I never want to have to use tire chains. These tires are a terrific value. I'm sure they'll be very popular.

I bought a set of at2s a year ago, I have put 16k on them and they have only been rotated once, they still look brand new, when they wear out I will give these a try, they look good.

I have used these, this is the only tire that compares with the BFG for all around traction but it suffers the same issue as the BFG, on heavy diesel trucks the wear is very fast, the Cooper is winning this heavy truck wear issue I have been fighting.

Some General A/T tires I had, great in the snow(impressive)but all 4 tires had 3 patches, then replaced a full blow out with a new one to have 2 patches in that tire. I put 3 or 4 plugs in the tires because 3 patches are the limit.tires still looked good when i replaced them. I swore I'd never by General again.
Well i bought a new 1500 4x4 chevy W/T with some General tires last December 2019, 38, 000miles now 2 patches so far. Was scouting new hunting area and drove maybe 100 miles on seasonal roads and 2 tracks some sand nothing major all 2 wheel drive and when done my front tires lost the outside edges rounded off.
Now compare ive own at least 5 sets of Michelin only one patch.
I have and older 2003chevy 1500 4x4 that has BFGs Rugged Terrain tires have at least 70, 000miles on them and still look great. They did way better than exspected in snow and ice on the EXSPRESSWAY. No patches in any of the tires on the BFGs.
Then you look at this General Grabber and see their tires try to copy BFGs and MICHELIN.
For myself General tires havent got that quality yet, and this tire could have it, but i definitely not putting my money or life into their tires at this point.
Till they can prove to me that their tires are worth it.

I just bought these tires and they are amazing. I have had the BFG KO2's and not only are they better they are a lot cheaper especially for my size tire(33x12.5x20), $600 cheaper. One other thing they are not exactly 33's closer to 32's which is great if you have a leveling kit on a Silverado, minimal rubbing. Highly recommend this tire.

Love my Atx's! They are amazing in snow, quiet on the road and grippy in the rain. I have received many compliments as the look amazing on my jeep. My only complaint is they required lots of weights to balance.

I have a set of Generals on my 99 Firebird. I think I’m gonna get these for my Ram.
