I said no way to the second one where you use the bottom of the spoon to peel it. So I ran to the kitchen and I tried it... I was freaking amazed... Thank you so much for this knowledge.. In the first method he pre-cut the segments before opening up the orange. That’s why there was a break between the cut to the middle and the opening out. I tried it and it doesn’t work.

here in the uk the only oranges we get from imported sources are one with really thick, leathery skins. there's now way these methods work on those suckers mate. the ones you were using were ripe, thin skinned varieties that are more like satsumas or clementines.
