I saw a base model ‘71 Camaro that was nicely restored, and it stole the spotlight. It had a 250 straight 6 w/a 1 bbl carb and a 3-spd manual shift. No power steering. It inspired people to talk about what they’d do if it was their car. I could see this one being a fun car to own.

People usually get impressed by top-trim-level cars but often overlook that if an entry-level, mass-produced vehicle with no appeal (and thus no reason to be preserved) survived for decades, this is a MIRACLE.

Had a 1999 Z28, same color back in the mid 2000's. Only my car had every single damn option you could get on a Z28. Loved that car, bought it with 30k miles, sold with 130k, it was super reliable(other than the 4l60e auto shitting the bed at 100k miles like they all do). Kept it polished up, it still looked amazing when I sold it. The guy I sold it to said he looked at so much junk before he bought mine.

Cheap and fun project car. I believe there is a couple companies out there that specialize in the 3.8 performance mods. Could be fun…

The V8 versions are the best ones to get and hold on to for as long as possible. V6 engines are way too underpowered and weak.

Sweet find, being a base model like that it would be lighter than others. I would keep the wheels as is and find a factory blower off a grand pix or other gm car with it and then you would have a sleeper😊
