Senna's remarkable story, charting his physical and spiritual achievements on the track and off, his quest for perfection, and the mythical status he has since attained, is the subject of SENNA, a documentary feature that spans the racing legend's years as an F1 driver, from his opening season in 1984 to his untimely death a decade later. Far more than a film for F1 fans, SENNA unfolds a remarkable story in a remarkable manner, eschewing many standard documentary techniques in favor of a more cinematic approach that makes full use of astounding footage, much of which is drawn from F1 archives and previously unseen.

Senna after the race: "“I just came so close to perfection that weekend that I relaxed. I opened windows for mistakes. [...] Since then, I’ve come back – because I lost some confidence at that point – and progressively I’ve fought back, and I got much stronger after that incident. Somehow I got closer to God, and that has become very important for me as a man.” - Simply the best

Seeing a person who is not currently with us generates some strange feelings in me. It's weird, it's something beyond comprehensive reason. Senna is dead, but there, running, fast and eternal, he is as wonderful as he is incredible.

I totally get what his commentary was saying. That tunnel vision, he wanted that win. He was in the zone too far. Had a 55 second lead!! That is crazy by today's standards. One little mistake and it costed him the win. LEGEND.

Senna was in another level this time.
Probably another brain frequency... lower brain frequency.
No racer talked about it before or after this.
In the case of Senna... he was unique.

This onboard footage was not from the 1988, it was from 1990. In 1988, the McLaren MP4/4 used a V6 1.5 liter turbo engine. But for this onboard, it’s the MP4/5B which was used in 1990; which had a V10 powered engine that you can tell from this footage.

He went into a delusional dimension of minimization of accepted risk that none of us can comprehend.

An absolute legend and a man of integrity, something not seen in F1 often.

What a brilliant documentary.  The 2.5 hours (American broadcast TV with the obligatory 8minutes of ads in every 30 minutes of airtime), but it flew past.  Great balance of race footage and behind the scenes.  RIP Ayrton, we miss you.

This on-board camera is not from 88's car. It is for the 89 or 90 one.... The roar of the 1988 engines was much different.... As for Senna's skill, no comments... He was the best ever, and will be the best forever!!!

senna revelou que queria colocar uma volta no 2 colocado prost ....mi arrepio quando vejo esse cara o saudade. ...Se não fosse aquele barra de direção quebrar senna teria uns 6 títulos com certeza. ..o melhor de todos os tempos

I get the exact same thing when I'm racing or driving [at the legal speed limit] on the roads.

I completely zone out for a long, long time and either end up at my destination with no idea how I got there or having been setting consistently fast laps, lapping back markers and sometimes overtaking competitors with absolutely no memory of it.

Rumour is I don't even breathe for most of it.

I've always wanted to get it checked out to see what my body does during that time.
