I met Molly Ringwald when she was in the process of filming this scene. She was between takes or waiting for her que. She was sitting in one of those director/actor folding canvas chairs on Broadway and 3rd street Promenade across from the Santa Monica Place Mall. She was very nice. This is a movie you can watch 5 times a year! A lot of morals to this teen classic romance comedy. You never bore of this movie! One overlooked moral is the “friend zone”. Duckie is the perfect example of what it’s like to be in the “friend zone”.
