💫 "[But] I always say, for anybody, find your own voice, stay true to the voice…", are the very words I needed most to hear, right now, and so perfectly timed it's serendipitous. 🧚‍♀️
Lynch's work is an acquired taste. I loved Twin Peaks, but it took me 2 years and a bottle of wine to get beyond the "mommy-mommy" scene in Blue Velvet. I was at the perfect age, with the just the right frame of mind, to get a proper perspective of his surreal creations. One will love them or hate them, but never feel neutral.
Not surprisingly, he went to a psychiatrist. Once. He supposedly asked the doctor if therapy would effect his work, and after being told that it was possible, Lynch immediately split. I love that. I've always admired Lynch, if for no other reason, for his lack of conformity.
Thanks for this wonderful clip. You have such a good eye for what's unique and interesting. This one just happens to be wonderfully analogous of my life right now. 🙏 Unexpectedly healing words, and from Lynch? Now that's surreal!
