I've had this "shiny watch" since 2018 and I can tell you, it looks as good as the day I bought it, daily wearer, solid AF, can take a beating - I get lots of complements, 300m is no messing around, more than most japanese divers (which i love) for the same price, it puts it in rolex omega territory for shiny diver.
I appreciate your honest review but I wholeheartedly disagree. Those beasty hands, blue lume, ceramic, the dial, the no nonsense tough movement with 80hrs
Absolutely impossible to beat. This watch made me a tissot fan and now I have the le locle that I bought for my wedding day and the visodate which both are absolutely gorgeous.

This watch actually makes quite a good dive watch. I've had it on dives in California, Jamaica and Hawaii - and it performs quite well.

I just added a rose gold Seastar 1000 to my watch collection. It's one of the least expensive watches I own BUT it has really surprised me. The build quality of this watch is right up there with much more expensive watches, the time keeping of the watch is perfect, I mean it just doesn't lose any time. I threw it on my time grapher and the beat error was 0.0ms, the rate was 0s/d, amplitude 314 and it was beating at 28, 800. That makes it the most accurate mechanical watch I own. Now the big shocker - I went down to my local country pub where the clientele are regularly sporting a whole host of "flashy" watches. You regularly see Rolex, Omegas and Hublots etc. No one has ever noticed or commented on any of my higher end watches until I rocked in with the Tissot! 😂 My first time here by the way, very informative and entertaining review, I think I'll stick around for a while. 👍

I added this to the Tissot sub group of my collection. I have the T Race, Visodate, the V8 racing chronograph, the ana-digi T Touch and the PRX. I enjoy Tissot as an entry level Swiss brand.

It's not so bad. I have 2 of these and enjoy wearing them very much. Perhaps you should review the upgraded versions.

You can’t like them all. If you did, you aren’t a reviewer you’re a cheerleader.

I have an entry level Tissot. Just over $200 for a powermatic 80 watch with sapphire crystal and decent depth rating. It’s a daily beater that looks good with every NATO I throw on it.

Blimey. This is the first time I've watch(ed) one of our vids, and you're as mad as a box of frogs. Love it. Well done on being so barmingly brilliant and different. Keep it up (for wifey's sake). Tick tock. Subscribed.

I generally agree with your view on Tissot. That being said the quartz visodate (silver with black dial) is easily the favourite watch of my collection. Yes, no lume, no AR coating and yes it's 'only' a quartz but I don't own a watch that makes me smile more, and for all Tissot's mass market cash grabs and uninteresting watches, I will defend the visodate to the death.

Hey buddy I have a Seastar! (Personally attacked) 😤 Jk all good, I actually agree with most everything you said. I think what’s missed here is the bang for buck. Yeah there are better diver’s for $1000 more. But they’re $1000 more lol. $600 for a dive certified swiss automatic sapphire crystal 80 hour power reserve blah blah I think is pretty good!

A hot take/click baity thumbnail leads to an extremely reasonable take. I love Tissot, just not the Sea Star.

I have this watch and do like it, I bought mine secondhand and mine is the one you showed in the picture with only 2 lines of text. The extra text must be a new thing. The only thing I would change and I agree with is having white numbers on the ceramic bezel insert and I'd prefer it to be matt as well. Would be interesting to see you review the new Seastar 2000 to see if it is any better ?

I own a Tissot Seastar 1000 from the early 2000s. It's one of my most beautiful watches (at least the most beautiful diver) with great attention to detail and still proper ruggedness. Yeah, the bracelet is kinda cheap. I paid 350€ for a 2nd hand piece in mint condition. I will say tho that the recent Tissots don't appeal to me at all, especially the current Seastar. Btw I prefer the 4hz ETA much over the Powermatic version. Power reserve is overrated imo.

The 36 and 40mm are tiny and silly. The 46mm brick 2000 too big. The 1000 43mm is the Goldilocks size and price and is gorgeous in person. It's easy to be a nit picky besterd, and u need 2 b on a Botch channel, but based on looks, specs and price, the Teeshot 1000 43mm hits the rest for six

It took me a long time to warm up to Tissot, but recently bought a sporty-dressy "Couturier" day/date Powermatic 80 model that's actually quite impressive for the $260 USD price I paid.

I get some of the fings you sed. Dont like bling, but I do like the design. Like 99% of watchees I dont dive, and just like the look, quality and heritage and time keeping. Im liking the all black ⚫️ version. The most subtle version. Very elegant. Might be my 60th Bidet prezzie 🤫🤔😉

Another Slammin video. Thank you, for being honest with your opinions. Super helpful to get the perspective of a true
watch Sage. :)

I’ve owned and ultimately sold several Tissot watches. I did settle on a white/silver dialed Visodate on a milanese bracelet that looks and wears like a dream. It is the prior generation with traditional ETA movement. It will remain as keeper in my collection of a Rolex, Breitling, Hamilton, and several Seikos.

I’ve seen this piece advertised and pushed on multiple watch buying websites. It’s never really grabbed me by the balls like others have. Now that I’ve seen it a little closer, my opinion has not changed. It’s definitely not the watch for me, but I respect anyone that sees it differently. Great job, as usual. Cheerio!
