Milton Update: Florida braces for monster hurricane and ‘deadly storm surge’

Hurricane Milton is heading directly for Florida and could bring deadly storm surge. NBC News' Marissa Parra is in Tampa and NBC News' Dana Griffin is in Naples with the latest reporting. Jodie Fiske, Director of Public Safety for Manatee County, Florida, joins Ana Cabrera to share her advice to people in the path of the massive storm and to discuss the preparations underway.

Gotta love surfers! There's a book about an asteroid plowing into the Pacific Ocean called Lucifer's Hammer. In one of the opening pages, a surfer waits for the impact wave to reach Los Angeles. He catches a thousand foot wave and rides it into downtown Los Angeles where he smacks into the 70th floor of a high rise.
