I like in Linux the integrated gcc/g++. When you compile in C or C++
gcc/g++ helps you a first debug it.
Then run it. In this all in the Terminal without to install something

Thank you... Lots of this stuff is confusing coming the Windows environment, and I consider myself as a technical person. Linux has lots of different ways to do the same thing and I used a package installer that didn't jive well with my version of Linux Mint, which is based upon Ubuntu Debian... I've done these installations before on my Windows Subsystem for Linux Ubuntu setup.
