Finally someone who is not a cheat and doesn't keep cutting the video. I watched five YouTube videos before this one, and they all kept cutting the video. Thanks for posting this video.

If you look closely at the bottom of your bladder, it's gusseted. If you open the bottom up, it will stand up on its own, and double your capacity . They are great filters .

In handling standing water, another prepper said to carry a water bottle cut off at the bottom so you can easily pour into the bag. He demonstrated it. It works well. You can even smash the sides of the store water bottle to pack in your backpack.

I just bought one after looking at many videos and reading up on water filters. If you suck tea through it all you will taste is water and it will be crystal clear. That is impressive. Thanks for your review. You did a good job demonstrating it. It is so simple and inexpensive.

nice video but also bring something to pour water in and dry the bag before filtering so you dont contaminate clean water

i bought a two pack of these for $35 at walmart. Used one to test. I ran a few gallons through, like other filters say to do, I used a Smartwater bottle because it screws good on the filter. It filters fine, but I also boil the water after filtering. Boiling seems to eliminate taste. Its fine to drink the filtered water, but there is still a taste, so I carry instant tea, the real sugar type, not those little packs that contain poisons, artificial sweeteners. Using these flavored drink mixes, the water is perfectly good to drink. Higher altitude back packing, i didnt need to worry about the taste, I filtered river water and was crystal clear and tasted great like those expensive bottle waters. There is a process and a understanding where your water comes from, if its close to a city area or say a public camp ground, there is chance of toxins or bad bacteria, however the higher you are in the mountain areas, the water running from rivers or streams, goes across rocks and sand beds as it flows which causes natural filtration. And there is no major contaminants. May have iron and minerals in the water, which there are substances your body needs. I will add a very small amount of salt to my already filtered water, that is a element you actually need in your body to help your hydration through rigorous activity such as hiking or backpacking. Water bottling companies write on the bottle, minerals added for taste, those minerals would be salt of sodium bicarbonate, baking soda, The baking soda is a good flavor enhancer of natural filtered water, kills down the taste of lake water. So, if you carry a bag of baking soda or some kind of drink mix that has light sugar, not those artificial like Aspartame. I use Tang, or Lipton instant tea not those little packets for water bottles, but actual powder drink mix. Dont need to make a full serving, just sprinkling a tad bit. just to make lake water have a better taste. You will entirely get what Im saying the first time you try drinking water from a lake. I filter and boil what I get from a lake, letting cool then fill my canteens, Its actually not bad after you boil. So, to maximize your health, bring a stove and pot system to boil your water. When I set up camp, there is a lot of time on my hands, i collect firewood and boil water, the course of a day you can boil upto 5 gallons of water . I use a gallon a day for hydration which in a gallon jug is heavy to hike with, but got used to traversing carrying a gallon jug, if you drink a whole gallon of water a day, no worries about dying of dehydration. AT my home, i do drink a gallon over the day, so ive conditioned myself and stay hydrated. Im giving a good tip here about the quality you will need, how much water to filter for personal consumption on a daily basis. I will filter two to three gallons, one for myself, one for cooking meals and one for cleaning my mess kits after meals. I also have a camp shower, which i filter water to take a camp shower...the object of cleaning is washing off any thing, if you shower in just lake water, your not getting very clean.

Good how-to video! I liked how you had to figure out a couple things on the fly. I have a couple of these filters and haven't needed them yet, but if our power goes out I can use them for filtering our rain barrel water.

I wont look at comments if someone already mentioned, but for the first time it is better to prepare filter prior use by running some clean water thru it. Thanks for the vid!

Good video
Could be improved by filtering water into a clear container so we can see how clean it is compared to a clear container of the unfiltered water.
