Thank you so much for sharing the reality. Most YouTubes share “colostrum is enough”, but it wasn’t for us. Nobody told us that giving extra milk was important and that we could give it via a bottle. It wasn’t until we learned our little one had lost more than 10% body weight at the first 48 hour visit that we understood what we “could do” with a bottle and “how much” we could give with his little stomach. I wish there was a chart for the first 48 hours to understand this for a variety of scenarios.

Some of what you are saying is false! #1 babies are NOT born hungry, they are born with a strong eurge to suck! They have intestines full of poop so how could they be hungry? #2 Your nipples will NOT get cracked or bleeding if you latch your baby properly. #3 A newborn stomach is the size of a cherry and it can hold a teaspoon of liquid at each feed, that's exactly how much colostrum we produce on day1. #4 Colostrum is small in quantity but it packs a might punch in quality, it's high in calories, thick and perfect for your baby. WE DONT NEED TO SUPPLEMENT!!! Please educate yourself more on breastfeeding and lactation before giving advice, you are confusing inexperienced mother's.
