I love the comments: "this is the history of Rome not Italy"
Why does this historical revisionist argument comes up only about Italy? what about Sweden? are people going to argue they have nothing to do with the Vikings? what about modern China and ancient China?
The Romans literally called themselves Italic, the political campaign of emperor Augustus had "Italia" at the center, he unified Italy itself, are we going to ignore the historical and genetic evidence of modern Italians being descendants of the Romans? what about the millennia of history between the two?
It's just an excuse to deprive Italy of it's legacy and it's done out of pure envy.

Man its so strange to hear Rome described like a foreign society. Most people tend to take a first person or relatable approach to the Romans because of how much info we have about them. Gives great new perspective

The Flavians WANT you to think they had nothing to do with Pompii being destroyed but Tidus Flavious left a bad Yelp review at a pizza place there and that was all the excuse the gods needed.

It's "Panem et Circenses", not Panem et Circunsenses (?!).
Good video though!
