She never won a Nobel PEACE prize. She won a Nobel in physics (1903) and in chemistry (1911).

I heard even her grave is still radioactive and that's honestly crazy seeing her own work killed her.

In a time, when women not only were severely discriminated against in receiving acolades but were badly underrepresented in academia over all. Marie Sklodowska Curie not only won a Nobel Price, she won TWO and that in two different categories, physics and chemistry (not peace ffs). A unique feat not repeated since.

Maria Skłodowska-Curie, she was very adamant about people calling her by her full name and she wanted to remind everyone of the fact the she was polish. However after she past everyone calls her by her husbands last name rather than her own.

dying from the thing you're studying seems so unfortunate, however we wouldn't have had important things without the sacrifice

People love praising her for her accomplishments but they rarely bother learning her full name. She kept her surname because she didn't want to be seen as her husband's wife. After all she had to fight for most of her life to be accepted as female scientist. She didn't want to end up like many wives of famous men whose work was basically stolen. There was also a patriotic element of her choice. She wasn't just a proud woman, she was a proud polish woman. She named "polon" one of the elements she discovered, not "frankon"

She's Maria Skłodowska-Curie

"She knew her killer more than anyone else in the world, but not enough I'm afraid." sounds like a line straight out of a killer documentary.
