just remember, Ford owners manual recommends you let your vehicle obtain running temperature, then cool-down for 15 minutes, and then measure your oil levels...

You can actually do the filter first. All the oils in the pan. I’ve noticed that if you remove the filter with the drain plug out, more oil will run outta the drain hole. Not sure why. Also I’m definitely a fan of putting new oil on the O ring.

I have a 2015 Base GT and unfortunately the belly pan doesn't have that little flap for the oil filter but it's only 6 bolts to remove the belly pan,   just a heads up for the base GT guys.

i work at a gm dealership as a entry level mechanic. those guys say "oil is oil...its simple, change it when its dirty"

Do you notice that when checking the oil level the dipstick needs to face a certain way? On my 16 GT its hard to get a good read unless the hash marks go in facing the block.

Are STP filters good? I got the extended mileage one and apparently they are made in Germany.

I would prefer to go to a dealer for an oil change, that way it shows up on my carfax. But all Ford Dealers have such horrible reviews. I honestly feel like they won’t actually change it and just take the money. Or use the cheapest parts possible, which will destroy your car at a later stage. Some even use the wrong parts. Only way to be 100% is doing it yourself.

Sir, is there a washer on the oil pan bolt? Or just a bolt? I just received a new oil filter for my mustang, but there’s no washer attached.

With any sort of screw, you want to go counterclockwise first, then go clockwise. This will ensure you are never cross thread anything.
