I was this guy in 1995 - I just left Walt Disney World's IT department to set off as an independent consultant. I sold a lot of families their first computers and loved installing the computer and showing them the Windows 95 videos that came on the install/accessory CDs. Edie Brickell, George Plimpton, and other videos. Really good times.

I got on the internet in February 1994 when my local phone company was offering a new trial of their upcoming service. By June 1995 it was a completely different place, and was growing rapidly. Cory understood where it was and where it was going, this is an amazing look back at how things were!

“When you are talking about playing around on the internet you are usually talking about one or two things, playing with yourself or playing with other people”

Wow, if only they knew how true those words would come to mean.

When he started right in talking about "playing with yourself" I was afraid of what kind of material he was about to show her. 😂

0:17 “playing with yourself” doesn’t mean the same today apparently as it did in 1995 😂

You know he had to have those clips downloaded already. I remember it used to take leaving my computer on overnight just to download a single 3-minute music video.

It's crazy that how many warnings you see, people will still keep arguing on social media. Twitter being the worst one in this case. But I'm glad we're switching over to bluesky.

Internet Underground Music Archive??? This was one before we cared much about internet piracy, right??

Remember we used to have those short small-sizes 32-56 kbps videos being downloaded in longer duration than the actual video itself 😂

And then weve got fancy codec and compression technique suppressing video size even smaller with better quality. Now we are focusing on faster internet instead of making files with efficient size, because storage technology is indeed a marvelmof technology, 😅
