I just saw this movie for the first time. Someone else said that it was a masterpiece and I totally agree. Jeff Bridge's Oscar-winning portrayal of the alcoholic country singer on the way down, was powerful, unforgettable and heart wrenching. And surprisingly, he still managed to retain, through the pathos, some of that sexy, country charm that he is famous for. Because he is such a great actor, you felt that you were LIVING the movie, not just watching it. Its a must-see. I agree with Tommy Peterson, the commenter below me, that we need a WAYLON biopic, with all the same people.

I've heard people say it was cliche, unoriginal, unbelievable, whatever.. The older I get, the more I appreciate something that's honest, to the point, and puts a smile on my face.. This movie will age well, IMO, and will be loved by many over the next few decades..

Jeff Bridges knocks this out of the park. Bridges doesn't portray Bad Blake, he lives Bad Blake. The performance is beyond brilliant. Every moment of his performance drips with truth, pain, charisma, flamboyance, heartache and resolve. Go see this if you can!!!

When this movie came out, I was in graduate school and married with 2 kids. I did NOTHING but study and spend time with my family, so I didn’t even know this movie existed. I absolutely love it! It was such a happy surprise.
