Well look what we have here - the fantastic 1938 Martin D-18 is back for another round, with a different style of playing today! We love having old pre-war Martin guitars in the shop as they always have such unique character and feel, and this one is no exception. The old oversized pickguard has been replaced with a new standard sized guard, with a bit of overspray to blend the once-covered area with the original finish. A new bridge, neck reset, and re-fret have brought this guitar up to full playing capacity, and the forward-shifted scalloped x-bracing combined with the materials used make this guitar really sing!

These old Martins have a beautiful haunting tone. You just don’t hear these sounds in a new guitar. They must be played and loved for many years before they get his much character. That being said, this is a good one! :)
