Scientists Find Baby ‘Ghost Shark’

Late last week, New Zealand scientists made the rare discovery of a baby ghost shark during a recent survey. "What we do know tends to come from the large adults which are usually a meter, a meter and a half in length, so finding one that actually kind of just sits in the palm of my hand is incredibly uncommon," Brit Finucci, a scientist at the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research, told Reuters. There's definitely so much we don't know about that live in the water.... that's why I find it extremely fascinating when some species do make their way up to the surface.

Is nobody going to point out that deep sea creatures shouldn’t be washing up like this? Not too long ago an anglerfish washed up on a California beach. They live in depths of at least 6600 feet…it’s all fascinating but very weird.
