I feel u. I’ve been on the journey for many years now and have reached heights in my spiritual gifts. One terrible circumstance can send me into anxiety. I try my best to control it, and to breathe yadda yadda. But I learned it’s not about controlling it, it’s about acceptance and flow. Feeling the fuckn feelings. Some days sucks, some people suck. And that’s ok. I’m not Ghandi level 24/7 and the more I think about it the less I even aspire to be like that. We have emotions for a reason

Yup, most of these spiritual teachers have gone from straight out of high school or college and into a monastery or ashram or something, and never faced any stresses or hardships of real life. If you threw them into a job at McDonalds they'd have a mental breakdown. I have no delusions that I'm enlightened, I haven't even hit this jhana sh*t.

From what I understand, enlightenment is just some moments when god knocks on your door, you open it, you have complete ego death, and god shows you the truth about reality and god itself. Then when it’s over you put back on your ego, you snap out of it and return to reality. It has nothing to do with behavior or being free from suffering. You’re still a human after enlightenment and you still have to grind to survive. The only difference is you know the truth. A bad analogy is Neo taking the red pill then realizing it’s all fake.
