Are you looking for a way to update your kitchen cabinets without replacing them? This tutorial shares the process of adding trim to flat panel cabinet doors to create DIY shaker-style cabinet doors for a fraction of the cost of replacing those doors.

// TOOLS & MATERIALS (affiliate):

- 1/4″ MDF sheet or Cabinet Grade Plywood (I used one cut to 3″ for the doors & 2″ for the drawers):
- liquid nails or wood glue
- 5/8″ brad nails
- wood filler
- caulk
- pencil
- tape measure
- safety glasses
- face mask (for dust)
- miter saw
- nail gun
- caulk gun
- orbital sander:
- putty knife

Great video. For people who can’t eyeball things well, use a measuring tape for the inner cuts.

I wanted to do the trim thing but our doors are rounded on the handle side and top and bottoms so it won’t look right.

However we love the lights above the sink and wood idea. Could you tell me where u got the lights?
