David Burke and Edward Hardwicke appear to me, to be one of the same . Their mannerisms, gestures, looks, character, stance, gait , voice patterns etc . Their differences appear indiscernible to myself . I can't tell 'em apart .

I saw the stage play with Jeremy Brett and Edward Hardwicke at Theatre Royal Bath in 1989 or might have been 1990. It was amazing, felt like I was seeing end if an era.

Whenever the Jeremy Brett Holmes' chose to expand upon the original canonical stories, they managed to do so with talent and respect. Herein we have a prime example.

If I remember, he'd spent something like three months on a case hardly eating or sleeping, and nearly killed himself doing it. So Watson went into doctor mode and took him on a 'health holiday'. :)

This serial is based on the original books which featured Holmes, as opium (heroin) addict and the doctor is called in to treat Sherlock Holmes by his brother, Mycroft, for his addiction. ( both have been left out in the anti-drug version)
