I compare my old and reliable 2013 #toyota #sienna minivan with the #v6 to the super-efficient 2023 hybrid Sienna. Which is better?!

I have owned siennas for 20 yrs, started with a 2004, rolled it, and walked away, bought a new 2008 drove for 11yrs, 425k miles no tune up, no tranny flush...just alternator kept going out cause i put in autozone parts😢 and air conditioner not strong cause of mouse nesting in cabin filter😅 now I have a 2015 with 140k that gets 20 city and 25 hwy. I moved my house and put a qn matress in back( without 2nd row), filled it with dirt for garden( on a tarp) and fill it with 7 adults for a road trip to vegas. Other than batteries and brakes, no big repairs. Note, get good brakes and rotors as they only get about 60k before warping. Was going to go for hybrid, but after this i this video and comments i will drive my 2015 to 500k this time! Thanks for the video! Siennas rock, its my truck that friend rely on and my car for cruisin.

Older vans are better cause you can remove seats 3rd row and 2nd row seats and older vans honestly come with more room!

We had the new design Sienna (about 2002 or so). I have owned cars at all levels of luxury but to me, this was the best car that I have owned in over 60 years of car ownership experience. It was as spacious as any moving passenger car. We did everything with it and it was flawless for about 6 years when it proved it's real worth. My wife was T-Boned right by the drivers door. She rolled over onto the roof of the car. The Jaws-Of-Life had to be used to extricate her and she was immediately taken to the Emergency Room. When I arrived a few minutes later, the Sate Police were kindly checking up on her and talking to her about how lucky she was to not even have one scratch. Imagine a violent rollover and basically walking away from it. The van was as solid and as safe as it could ever be. No injuries of any kind. My conclusion is that any Sienna is worth a buy. Just get your preference and you will be driving an excellent, reliable and safe car.

My parents still have the family 98 sienna (OG owners) and still going strong with less than 90k km. I remember delivery day and growing up with it. Honestly I am planning to buy it off of them when I start a family so it can continue in the family and keep well

V6 hands down. Unlike the new one, old one comes with a removable 2nd row, the unremovability of the new 2nd row is a dealbreaker

I've seen Sienna's with half a freaking million miles that were still running like a sewing machine. Toyota doesn't F around with their vans, ever.

Our 2012 Sienna XLE V6 has 340, 000 miles and is still daily driven with zero issues. I love it. This one has a loooong way to go.

I have a 2022 XSE. Basically, it’s a giant Prius (up to 42mpg) that can pull my 16’ boat effortlessly. It’s the ultimate vehicle.

I found confidence in purchasing a used 2016 2GR Highlander with the 6 speed transmission because of its perceived reliability 3 years ago, and I am glad I did. I do dislike the gas mileage, and that may be the only reason to upgrade....to a hybrid 4 cylinder version

Cool video.

We took an Uber to SFO, in a 2013 Sienna, with captain chairs, leather.

The ride was unbelievably smooth. I currently own a 2011 Lexus GS AWD, and have owned several v-6 Camry’s.

This car was luxe smooth. My Lexus gets between 16.5 to 22 mpg.

I test drove several siennas from years 2012-2017 and at 6 ft 3 your knees get crushed in both front seats all the way back. I ended up getting a 2004 Sienna CE with 140, 000 miles, has wayyyy more room up front and the center console folds down so the van is completely walk through, only down side I have found is rear drum brakes. But not a deal breaker.

The biggest issue with the 2023 Sienna is actually getting one!!! A friend of mine works for a High Volume dealer and she actually places the orders for the Dealership, she said it could be 3-5 years!!??!! Her Brother ordered one in November 2021 and he still doesn't even know when he will get it!!! She also advised that they have over 500 on order! They were only scheduled to receive less than 10 until the end of August!!??!! It is Plausible that some packages have much longer wait times than others.... but getting a Sienna is a LONG LONG wait!!! My guess is that they are re-tooling the plant preparing for the TX and GH which has pretty much brought Sienna production to a halt.

I am currently driving a 2015 Sienna Ltd, it is a nice driving van and gets about 19MPG or 12L/100K. This isn't great fuel economy, but not brutal either. My wifes 2011 CRV gets about 10.5L/100K.
I have a TX550H+ on order... hoping to get that within a year or so... maybe wishful thinking, but hopefully not!!

I prefer the powertrain and practicality of the 2013. I actually test drove a 2012 XLE with 200k and it was still whisper quiet and zippy going 65mpg which felt like 80 mph. The only thing I like on the '23 is the side and rear design, very Supra-esque. Favorite part of the review was the center console shut test😂 12:38

Awesome comparison, thank you. I think it’s important to mentioned the biggest talking point, after 10 years you have to replace the hybrid battery which will cost you heavily. While on the v6 model will go 15 plus years no heavy costs

We loved our 2004 Sienna XLE Limited. It went over 250k before we sold it to a local person for 1500 and now i wish we had it back. The back seats folded into the floor and you coyld remove the 2nd row captains chairs. The DVD system kept our 4 sons entertained for hours on the road to Indiana, CA, FL etc. It had plenty of power and all the bells and whistles. Wish i still had it!

I bought a used 2019 Sienna LE with the last revision of the 3.5L V6 and 8 speed automatic transmission in 2020 and no regrets here. I’ll trade the fuel economy of the hybrid for the solid near bulletproof power train of the last generation Sienna as I plan to drive it til it dies! It’s actually gone up in value since we bought it!

:) THANKS for sharing! Got my 2012 used about a year ago, with 40 K Miles, LOVE IT! It is AWD and wanted a Hybrid, UNTIL I SAW THE PRICE AND WAIT TIME :( May be the last vehicle purchase for me as I expect it to last as long as I maintain it.
