Mindhunter Season 1 Complete Recap / Refresher in under 5 minutes. It's everything you need to know for season 2.

Mindhunter, Netflix’s true crime drama series, follows a duo of FBI agents — Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Holt McCallany) — as they study the methods and motivations of serial killers in the 1970s. Based on the real-life experiences of former FBI agent John Douglas, Mindhunter verges on historical fiction, recreating several of Douglas’s cases but adding narrative twists to keep things even more interesting. Douglas, like Holt in the show, pioneered the practice of psychological profiling — especially of serial killers — during his 25 years with the FBI.

Much appreciated! I just started watching S2 E1 and was like, "Wait, wtf happened in S1 again!?" So, thank you. 🙌

I'm pretty sure Holden didn't buy the shoes for Debbie - she surprised him with it. This scene happens almost immediately after Bill says he wishes he was as immune/oblivious as Holden to the crap they're dealing with - basically showing that Holden is, in fact, affected to some extent after all.
This video is what the title says - a recap and that's all. Doesn't capture the show itself but that'll take ages.

The cat thing wasn’t a metaphor. Fincher said the cat disappearing and the food dish being covered with bugs was meant to allude to the fact that there is a serial killer in the making (probably a 12 or 13 year-old) living in Carr’s building; the next generation of serial k’s.

I agree with most of this except for:
The "filler episode" is a great episode that proves that their work has substance; what they've been working on helps them to reach the goal of *why* they're working on it. It legitimizes their work.
Also Kemper is by no means crushing Holden, I don't think it was meant to be perceived that way. Holden freaks out the way he does because he's finally waking up to the idea that he's extremely far down the rabbit hole, and making *him* seem like a potential "case" is absolutely within the means of the future.

Really good recap overall though, just those small details.

Cameron Britton, dude playing Ed Kemper, disappears into his role as Hazel in The Umbrella Academy. Didn't realize they were the same guy until just the other day. He's crazy-versatile. It's awesome.

This is one of the best season recaps I've ever watched. Every Ep is covered quickly and only the plot points are covered. Short and sweet. Thanks and I've sub'ed. Great review!

I fucking loved season 1, but when I went to watch season 2 I realized I didn’t remember a thing from season 1. Thank you! Did a better job then Netflix’s recap

This isn’t a recap, this is your opinions on the season.

I'm gonna brag about Jonathan Groff's acting talent a bit in episode 10. Can we just appreciate how when he's talking to Devier about underaged girls he adopts Devier's laid back hick accent. Even kicks back in his chair and folds his arms, mirroring Devier. Then he shifts to Kemper when talking about mom. He takes on Kemper's clinical and monotone dialect and leans forward on the table, much like Kemper's body language. That attention to detail on the show creator's part paired with Jonathan's ability to really convey in screen is what makes this show just SO good.

Lol you said some of the scenes are "boring and you can fast forward through those". No way I could trust anything you have to say about any show. There are little things in every scene it would seem. Not sure how anyone could say that this show is great but you'll want to FF through some scenes.

Thanks for this refresher. Completely forgot what happened in Season 1. This is the best recap video that covered all plot points and even minor (but important) stuff.

I totally forgot about the cat, the shoes and the principle! Great recap, short but it feels like everything is in there. The Netflix recap was more flashy then explaining imo, so I needed this

Tragic the way serial killers are immortalized

This is how recaps on youtube should be done, a 5 minute video containing basically everything you need to remember about the show, a video for people who actually watched the previous season(s) and want to refresh their memory before watching the new one.

Subbed. Good recap. Short and concise. Thank you!

Ps. According to Fincher the cat isn't a metaphor. It's signaling that there's a kid in the building killing cats. The start of a new serial killer.
