3D Shape Nets for Kids - A video to help children understand and visualize 3D shape nets. A wide range of 3D shapes and how they unfold.

What is a 3D shape net? A net is composed of all the flat faces of a 3D figure. Every single 3D shape will differ than the other and the number of faces will differ from one shape to the other; a cube will be different than a cone or a circle and so on.

According to this educational video which we have brought to the parents and their kids, there are some facts which they should know about the different 3D shapes that are found out there. There is the cube which consists of 6 flat faces, the cuboid which also consists of 6 flat faces, there is the cylinder which is made up of 3 flat faces only, a cone which is made up of just two flat faces, the triangular prism which is made up of 5 flat faces, the tetrahedron that is made up of 4 flat faces, the square based pyramid which is made up of 5 flat faces, and eventually there is also the hexagonal prism and this one is made up of 8 flat faces!

Now you know what 3D shape nets are, let us ask you a couple of questions to see how much you managed to get some information from this video: How many flat faces does the cube shape has? How many flat faces does the cylinder shape has? How many flat faces does the cuboid has? If you know the answers for these questions then you are close enough to know the other pieces of information that are found out there! Here you go!

If you have any other things related to learning more about the shapes then let us know them! And if you have any questions related to the video or related to knowing more about the shapes in general, send them all over to us and give us the chance to answer them and help you.

Enjoy watching this video about 3D shape nets and understanding what they are and how many flat faces every single shape has. Let your kids know more about 3D shapes and send us your feedback regarding how much successful this video turned out to be at the end with your kids and how much did they learn from it.

Try to create 3D shapes out of paper following the nets you have just learnt! A new challenge to set for you and your kids now.
