When I was in college, there was a dude who ran a hot dog stand in front of the row of clubs in downtown. All of the drunk students at 3am would line up around the BLOCK to get his hot dogs. It was his full time job, and he only worked like 5 hours every Friday and Saturday night.

He quit being an accountant to sell hot dogs.

Since we never see Homer actually hand the guy any money, it’s logical to assume that he must’ve simply hired him to follow him around full time.
