She tried getting out of Iraq before her troops and with rugs before she was stopped by a U.S. General.

Yeah, she’s gonna bring her rugs too.

Don’t be so naive Scott …JT made the decision and you know with him gender is and will always be a significant decision point. He has stated it clearly. Her gender helped her be selected.

This coward ran away from danger in iraq Cut to the front of the line after begging for an American chopper from italy to pick her up

We shall see how she does. On the one hand I do not care that she is a woman if she can do the job. But as all CDS appointments, this is political and it reflects the current government's priorities, which is diversity, not readiness. The principal factor in her appointment is that she is a woman, there is no denying this. So this of course means other qualified candidates were discarted for being men, its as simple as that. Hopefully she was not promoted above her competance. As part of a protected class, she will be above criticism and the compliant media will celebrate her and have her back. Now the media can be positive about CF leadership not being a bunch of old white men, which we all know is an inexcusable sin nowadays. Her previous office should never exist in a Western military, it belongs in the kind of eastern block military where komissars ensured political compliance.

So much for merit. Supposedly CAF is a combat operation? Shouldn’t the leader have combat training instead of a history of academia and human resources training??
Could you imagine your section, platoon or company commander being chosen not from experience but from demographics?
Many people will question giving their unlimited liability to this leadership and PM and get out at the earliest

She will be remembered as the Kim Campbell of the CAF. She will accomplish nothing and quickly replaced, with the next government.

Scott that picture of you as a young infantry man looks straight out of a movie!

I'm hearing the rank and file have ZERO respect for her.... 😮

Sorry Scott but a decision for this type of appointment should be based on the best “person “ for the job not who is the best in a particular identifiable group.
Also I noticed that you sidestepped the now infamous “carpet “ incident in Iraq….

Look us in the eyes and tell us she was more qualified and deserving than someone like Major-General Steve Boivin (as just one example). Do an episode comparing her resume to the other candidates she competed against or you will lose all credibility.

It will get worst now, and not because she is a woman, it's the toxic leadership will get worst . The whole upper echelon of officers above COL should be retired and removed from the forces and a rigid promotion process to promote leaders that are true leaders . Non comms should have say in who they want running the military .

She’s a DEI appointment for sure who’s 4-5 ranks above where she would have achieved on her own merit if she’d been a man.

Excellent commentary. You're right, she is stepping into what is likely a no-win situation, but let's hope she finds innovative solutions to the CAF's many problems.

'woke donosaurs'..ok Scott...missed on the point by a country mile on this one again

03:31 She won't last long, so whatever she does she better do it hard and fast, which could also be detrimental. Pierre Poilivre will remove her in his crusade against "Woke" and pro "Merit" objectives. Though she may have Merited service experience.. she is seen as more woke than qualified.

I am happy to be out of the Bureaucrat cad-pat, was a passion in the beginning, wound up being embarrassing. Liberal govt never has been any advantage for the CAF, it’s a lifestyle and mindset they will never understand nor accept.

Should she not be charged under the Canadian Forces Hateful Conduct Policy making racist and sexist comments?
