jQuery isn't going anywhere. It'll be around for decades, imo. Definitely falling off, but it's worth knowing. Plus, you can do simple tasks extremely fast.

Loads of jobs still require it. But I am pretty sure Bootstrap 5 removed jQuery? I don't use either personally. I prefer Tailwind CSS, and Vue JS. But there is still huge demand without a doubt.

in my dev firm im being encouraged not to bother with jquery... but its a fair point that existing projects have it... thus worth learning..

jQuery won't going anywhere, and it won't going to die anytime soon, it's way cheaper to maintain an existing old but working code than migrating to a more "modern" code. So most of companies will stick to a classic phrase "if it's not broken, don't fix it".

In short it's not worth learning any outdated technologies unless you're planning to work freelance or for an outsourcer company.

I still use jQuery for my school project, but mostly for the selector, the rest like animation I use CSS, and Fetch instead of Ajax

I mean... i think ES6 makes jQuery obsolete... it's just, the vanilla dom element selectors suck.

1:30 - People who say jQuery is a _language_ have bigger problems than their underestimation of jQuery's relevance.
