Honestly, learning to talk less and listen more changed my life. I don’t even argue with people, I just look at them and give short answers. They always end up exposing themselves and over talking and become very flustered lol. It works especially well on narcissists. Calmness is key. 💅🏾

"If you feel like people aren't listening to you, stop talking! When you stop talking and just listen people will tell you everything you need to know."

I learned a hard lesson about never outshining the master. People's egos are fragile and will bring you down just because.

Once I learned that silence is a powerful trait, my life became better.

A great book. My grandfather always told me listen 80% and talk 20%. Never made sense until about 5 years ago.

It's called Emotional Intelligence (EQ). IQ gets you hired. EQ gets you promoted.

It’s never about talking less. Talk with quality and on point. Good speakers talk a lot and they make sure it is quality talk not just opening their mouth.

“They don’t understand that you wanna talk less to appear more powerful “
As an introvert this is an absolute win

Graduating in the 80's
I was still under the impression that you outworked and hustled to make it.
Boy did the next year's teach me a lot.
Doesn't matter how strong your convictions this world has changed and it's all about how well you can get along with others. World to the wise, if you want to be #1 you better do it quietly with a smile and try to keep the peace with all .
Sad but true.
Oh yeah let me add this.
It's not that you have to bow down to anyone but sadly management will side with the majority. No matter what.

This would have came in handy a year ago. I lost my job telling a coworker who, I thought was a friend, my personal business. After telling her how I lost jobs watching the best to do and be the best with most being a supervisor's. Not to mention how they treated me. She turned around and did the same thing with me being let go forgetting that she was the management informant. She told me everyone's business and I should have known them she could not be trusted. I have never trusted a coworker again. I now keep to myself and stay silent. I do what is expected and leave the rest.😊

I bought 48 Laws of Power years ago when it first hit the shelves. It became my professional bible. Thanks to you I have a PhD in Leadership & Business and an MBA and now I am a leadership consultant for some of the most powerful players in the U.S. I cannot thank you enough. Dr. K

He has worthwhile insights, and says them well. He always looks like he is in pain, and is about to break down in sobs. That man needs a hug.

I'm a very quiet person at times and I don't really like talking unless I have something to say. I am very charismatic under the right circumstances. Most people see me as being serious and intimidating. I've learned that silence makes people feel weird and uncomfortable. I'm a very nice guy once people get to know me though.

Don't work for people who don't respect your job.

Ive made every possible mistake regarding this issue. Im too stubborn to change. Something inside me refuses to bend over backwards to give ppl a particular image. Life is too short to live it for ppl. I wish we encouraged each other more to live authentically.

This is the first book I bought when I moved here in the States in 2000 from the Philippines when I was 21 years old. It has been my bible. I owe my success in life from this book. The law of never outshine the master, countless of times saves me from insecure bosses. I can easily play with their insecurities pretending to seek their advice and made them think it’s their ideas while leading them on to what I want.
