Using Fuse to stick a weapon onto a shield may seem a bit pointless at first, but that attitude won't get you anywhere, ooh no.

the more i see videos like this, and one where a guy turned his shield into a skateboard, the more think, if you think outside of the box you really can do almost anything
and the more i think this game deserves game of the year

I use shield with rock to mine stuff. 1 hit destroys deposits

Probably everybody knows but fusing two handed weapons with a shield is quite useful. When you do that two handed weapon gets the move set of the shield. So you can block, and parry. And you will still have the high damage or range of two handed weapon.

Thank you for the spoilers info at the start! Nintendo life is the best!

Thanks for the tip Alex. I dont use my shields enough in this game because I usually am carrying a two handed weapon, which is probably why I get knocked on my butt often.

This is actually awesome. I liked using ice blades in BoTW, but hated switching to other weapons to keep it in use. This will make combat much more smooth.

Shields fused with ice like or fire like stones will help regulate your temperature just by having them equipped. It's very useful early on when you cant afford specialized clothing yet

I've been leaving shields because I already had a full stock until I realised you could fuse a shield on to another shield!

I realized you could make a boulder-breaking shield in the tutorial, but haven't touched the mechanic since for offensive purposes. Holy boy I'm gonna try this!

Not every weapon has the same range. The items you get from the block guys give you a bit longer

Okay, I've been loving your zelda content. So many people Ive been avoiding because they're like veey tutorially and walkthroughy. But y'all remind me of being a kid and you go to your friends house, and they're like, look what i can do.

Now we just need Link to use his fists

If you want a range attack on your shield, you can attach a flame thrower to a zonai shield. I’m not sure if it works with any shield though

Talk about a 🤯 kind of video. I attached a sword and thought maybe it caused spike damage, and it didn’t do anything so I stopped trying weapons. Haven’t been using shields too much cause my imagination only thought of something like puffshroom or flame emitter.

I did not think about the parry button!
This really adds another dimension to sword and shield combat.

I laughed the first time I watched this video like “that’s cute” but after trying it with my fav monster parts, it truly is practical. Bigger combos ftw
