Review of the 2021 Rocket Ian Freire Pro Micro downhill race longboard

In 2021 Rocket Longboards has redesigned the Ian Freire Pro longboard. In 2019 the deck was made using LAF technology but to continue this time consuming method was impractical. The redesign has matched the light weight of the old deck but using a normal work flow and materials. The result has to be seen to be believed.

There are now two versions of the Ian Freire deck: Micro and Macro.
This video goes into the MICRO which is a small race deck. We give you an in-depth look at the new deck, and we go into what technology, what materials make up this deck.

This is not a paid promotion. I was not given a free board to review, my only communication with Rocket was confirming the materials used and the layers.

I got this board about 2 weeks ago and it somehow feels very natural, it was like I didn't really have to get used to it.

Picked up the Dane Hanna Landy pro model before Xmas. Kinda spewing as the specs on this look better (more than 1 wb option and the Landy at 8.3 it's hard to get leverage on your trucks, particularly with the really deep wheel wells)

I dreamt of a LAF mini. It's still the lightest in the market I know but still sorta disappointed :)

what i don't get is that the price is about the same as the LAF version, which has a much better construction.
No doubt the board will rock but LAF was years away from a simple bamboo/glass fiber contruction.
