@iToasterman You can install the 8 GB of RAM without re-installing Win 7, but if you don't have a 64-bit copy installed, then the OS can't use all of the RAM.

@iloveshutdo I don't know about that because in OS X 10.7, the kernel is always 64-bit, and I can run 32-bit apps, and 64-bit apps, side by side, at full speed, with no problems or crashes.

Windows Key + Pause Break will open up your System control panel. You can also get to it from the Control Panel itself.

@TheMoneyBand With two HDDs you can install Windows 64 bit on one, move all of your files over, still keep the other partition, and dual boot between them.

I did do my research, but also keep in mind, this was released before Windows 8 came out and during a time where older programs had 64-bit compatibility issues.

Yes, you can go to Control Panel and click System to check to see if your system is 32-bit-capable.

I think you can if you are able to replace the processor.

@firaszul99 You need a 64-bit OS. Ex: Mac OS X, Windows 7 64-bit, Ubuntu 64-bit, etc.

Yes, a few people mentioned that. The updated edition is a lot better. I do one every year or so.
