Sadhguru on the God Particle - Higgs Boson (Part 2)

Sadhguru discusses the recently discovered Higgs Boson or "God-particle". He states that people's idea of science is limited to the latest gadgets available in the market. This discovery has at least popularized physics as a quest for knowledge. He talks about four specific dimensions of life as depicted in the yogic lore and where this discovery fits into this spectrum. Telling us about the limitations of using intellect as a tool for exploration, Sadhguru urges one to look within for the source of creation.

Sadhguru points out that science has become all about using life around us to our benefit. This kind of exploitative science should be restricted.

"You can only make a living from what you get; you make a life from what you give."

Sadhguru explains that fundamental science was very advanced in ancient India but people never converted it into technology that would exploit nature. In the yogic culture, nature was always seen as 'mother nature'. He concludes that this attitude of exploiting everything for our benefit must be checked or it can become our nemesis.

He isnt saying anything negative against Science, He appreciates the urge to know, just not always using things/knowledge to get something out of it to exploit or make a profit or weapon. Like with Einstein for example and the atom bomb. "Science that is driven just by what it can get out of it should be curtailed is what he said. Not all Science, just that point. Just the attitude or "what can I get, what can I get".

India has been a great contributor in terms of mathematics and medicine. So has past greek and arab scientists. The fact that it science is evolving doesn't mean that what we have found out in past are untrue. the very fact that we can derive from them predictions and technology which works is the embodiment of the completeness of understanding at a specific scale.

Vivekannda, Tagore were people who were known also for their rationality. THere is no surprise for me to know that they interacted and had philosophical discourse with other rational beings of their time. People will say many thing but this is what Heisenberg said "the smallest units of matter are not physical objects in the ordinary sense; they are forms, ideas which can be expressed unambiguously only in mathematical language."

What im trying to say and i think are the views of sadhguru. is that ur right technonology is important to us today as it has always been. but please be conscious on how the human technology works.By that i mean the way human nature is. we will never stop and never settle the more u engineer the world to our satisfaction. And our satisfaction will always b the same. we are no happier than the people centuries ago. And its a huge cost to the world around us. just think where will this take us?

Its a general statement that non-believers like me often get that we aren't open minded. Being open minded isn't the same as being gullible. Infact it is the scientific process which encourages everyone to be open minded. But the fatal difference here is that science imposes yet another constraint on top of it that no matter what speculations one has made it has to be tested against experiments which are free from any human interference and hence truly unbiased.

If you listen to greatest scientists i mean the topmost, they will say that they are really humbled by the very nature of the universe and they
understand how little they know about the universe, and that it is very difficult to comprend many things, unless they use
the conciousness to explain the phenomenon. Thats how the String theory and superstring theory came into existence, which were actually discovered
and formulated very long ago by these yogis, by doing meditation.

I think Sadguru has not spoken against technology, He is very clearly emphasizing on how why is the usage of technology is limited to mater only. as Sankara says "All of us including Ishwara make it". But the usage and results of modern technology do not concur with each other. Results are what we can agree, usage is really questionable considering world scenario. I have found him a great supporter of technology in all his speeches. His reservations r only limited to wrong usage and implications.
