The problem doesn’t lay with the dogs, it is with the owners. People buy dogs without paying attention to why they were bred. Both Bassets and Beagles are HOUNDS. They are hunting dogs. Dogs are not people and Disney cartoons are not accurate representations of dog breeds. I have proved over and over to people that if they want a pedigree pup for cheap just wait till April or May and go to your local pound. Idiots buy sweet puppies at Christmas and after two to three months the true nature of the animal begins to reveal itself and people start dropping them off at shelters or try to sell and undisciplined animal to another set of idiots. This is animal abuse.

I LOVED my Bassett Hound, but he was a little hard to train. Especially with house training. He would never go in his crate, but sometimes after a 40 minute walk through the woods he would come right inside anf go to the bathroom on the kitchen floor.

I had a pair of Siberian Huskies at one time. I think one of the things that makes them so hard to train is that they know they're going to be fed regardless of what they do.

I've had six huskies, very stubborn lol at first I thought they were stupid but eventually figured out they're actually really smart, smart enough to realize they don't have to listen to you, if they don't want to lol there has to be something in it for them

A close friend of mine grew up around German Shepherd Dogs and as we all know they're very trainable dogs. So when she got herself a Beagle it's certainly been a wild ride and a whole new experience lol.
