I actually like the white version alot more than the black. It has this frosted look to it and you won't see fingerprints either.

I ditched my F3 for Pixel 6 a year ago, and now I'm thinking of reverting back to Poco with the F5. The specs are just perfect for 2023! Can't wait to pair it with a nice custom AOSP Rom.

Definitely I would go for F5 than F5 Pro since it got headphone jack (main priority), more bezeless, newer chipset, slightly cheaper, more than enough performance overall and what I need for me. F5 Pro obviously good, with more and great features. F5 is enough if you ask me.

This is the real deal. Finally a return to the days of Poco f3.

Ive been using Redmi Note 12 Turbo (aka Poco F5) for two months, and honestly its a good upgrade and dont regret ditching my Redmi Note 9 Pro. Small bezels, almost flagship level Soc, High refresh rate and audio jack. The cons is the plastic back got easily scratched.

When the midrange becomes more than good enough.

As Marques famously said: Cheap phones are getting good. And good phones are getting cheap.

Edit: I also got to say, your reviews have definitely improved since I last saw your video. Kudos and an extremely good job to you and the team.

Here's to 300K Subs, hopefully by the end of 2023 :)

This device is very recommended for heavy gamers with the budget between RM1000-RM2000

Im using the Poco X3 pro and it was quite adfordable considering I bought it for gaming specifically and the successors in the X series really dropped the ball in terms of SD processors, a terrible downgrade. Definitely considering the F5 now.

I was contemplating which phone in the same price range should I buy next week. My options were Samsung Galaxy A54, Oneplus Ace 2V, Poco F5, and Realme GT Neo 5 SE. It took days for me to decide. This morning I came up with the conclusion to buy Poco F5. Here are my reasons,

A54 is IP67 certified and it has 4 years of Android updates & 5 years of security patches. Impressive! But its charger doesn't come in the box. That's wack af. And most midrange phones nowadays support over 60W fast charging. But this A54 only supports up to 25W. Bullsh*t! And design wise, its bezels are so thick, and I do not see any reasonable reason for Samsung to come up with that thick bezels as its predecessor has thinner bezels. Its processor is such a trash too. I'm a heavy gamer. A54 only supports up to 'High' setting for PUBGM. That's where I decided to kick it out from my options line-up.

For Oneplus Ace 2V, in terms of performance and cameras, they're great and its performance is just as great as Poco F5, I believe so. I don't really care about cameras because I don't really take picture. I don't know much about this phone but one thing that I know is that it's not available in Malaysia. Can only get the Chinese ROM. I don't know how reliable it could be if I buy it. I was about to decide to choose this one but I have hesitation with the Chinese ROM.

Realme GT Neo 5 SE? Same as Oneplus Ace 2V. Chinese ROM. Don't know if any is available in Global ROM. I also believe that if Oneplus Ace 2V and GT Neo 5 SE come with Global ROM, they would be much more expensive and be out of my budget.

Therefore, I've chosen to buy Poco F5. Great performances (supports 90 fps for PUBGM), has decent cameras as a midrange smartphone, fast 67W charging (as a uni student I need this feature so bad), and large battery capacity. A perfect phone which is surprisingly very affordable considering all these amazing features.
Speaking about its back panel, I don't see any problem with that at all, who tf doesn't use phone case? Lol

Edit: Speakers are bad? Buy a Bluetooth speaker bro. Who tf use phone speakers themselves to play music nowadays hahah.. And for me most of the time I use my wireless earphones, so the speakers ain't an issue for me either

Hi, not sure if my comment will be read or even replied duirng this stage.
I bought the Poco F5 Blue 12GB 256GB variant after doing much research for a month. Bought it during 11.11 during a flash sale for about the equivalent of USD 300. The funny thing was I upgraded from the previous Poco flagship the F3 which I had for 2 years and unfortunately I lost it last month during a train ride. But oh well.. I was also previously a Poco F1 user which I had for 4 years. So I can safely say that I am a Poco user veteran having used all the odd numbered Pocos. LOL

I was seriously contemplating this phone with the Nothing 1 phone as I am a huge fan of Carl Pei's take of Android and his Oneplus legacy. The Nothing 1 phone is just one of a kind. But in the end the flash sale of the Poco F5 gets the vote from my wallet.

So far this phone has been very smooth and a joy to use. I am used to MIUI so the interface familiarity is there. The SD 7 Gen 2 really feels fast and snappy for anything thrown at it. I have disabled all the ads from MIUI so now the phone is totally ads free, which get rid of 1 sore point of MIUI. I don't game on my phone so the gaming performance of the phone isn't that relevant to me.

What surprised me was the comeback of the 3.5mm jack! Great to reuse my corded earphones left lying in my cabinet after I switched to the F3 from F1.

Just that from the F3 there were some downgrades at least on paper, like the 360hz to 240hz touch sampling rate, and apparently the camera sensors are using Omnivision sensors instead of Sony sensors. But it doesn't feel like a downgrade in real world experience.

I am not sure if GCAM at this point is an improvement to the stock camera. Can you advise if this is so? And which build should I use?

I also missed the ''Clear Speaker'' feature of the F3. I am not sure why Poco didn't retain this feature to help clear dust from the dual speakers.

My humble feedback :)

Probably the QHD is reducing some performance but dang that Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 is incredible. 800 series performance under RM1500 has been unheard of for a while. This Poco F5 is definitely a great buy. It's finally showing off performance per money that has been needed for quite a long time. Excellent phone overall.

7pg2 is a really good flagship chip. Benchmarks did not lie. It’s the basically the new d8100. The old sd870 was great even d1200 was pretty good but this 7pg2 is really what all the 765 750 778 was meant to be. And I would say the 778 was the baseline for top mid range. Nothing should have gone for 7pg2 if they were not going for hype, if oneplus has a 7pg2 that will be the sweet spot.

I have the Poco F5 256GB version which I have gotten for 350 USD on Lazada. The phone is pretty good overall, especially for its price but the battery life isn't as great as it is on paper considering it has a 5000mAh battery. For 350 USD the phone has a SD 7 gen 2 which is as good as the SD8+ gen 1, a camera that is pretty solid for a mid-ranger with decent OIS and night mode processing, and lastly, it comes with a 67W fast-charger in the box which even other $1000 phones don't do that today.

I’m picking this over the f5 pro. The f5 pro version does not seemed to be “pro” & I dislike curves designs (I don’t get why curve edges is a premium or pro taste). Thinking about ditching my s23 ultra for this.

I'm about to buy the little f5, but watching videos of the reviews in Spanish are rubbish, your video helped me a lot. Greetings from Costa Rica👍

Very weird comparison but I'm curious what your opinion is for someone shopping for a mid-ranger looking at Poco F5/Pro vs Nothing Phone (1). I know processors are totally different but they're in the same price region with Phone (2) looking to be a little more expensive. Camera, UX, and maybe some short gaming.
