They cancelled it because American audience didn't deliver the ratings they needed ... while the rest of the world was watching it and kept on cheering. There's something seriously wrong with "the system". We "the world" need more shows like this.

As someone who grew up with Jeff Daniels being Dumb or Dumber, and the dad in Fly Away Home, his performance in the Newsroom is fantastic. I never knew how professional he truly is. Such a great actor, person.

I just finished The Newsroom last night after viewing it over 9 or 10 days, not believing I hadn’t seen it sooner. I loved it, though it is not flawless IMO, but it isn’t terribly flawed either. I did not feel I was left hanging even though there were only 6 episodes in the 3rd and final season. I get that it was A LOT of work for Sorkin as the only writer but I can’t help but wish he’d brought on another writer or two to collaborate with and pound out another couple of seasons. Of course there’s a risk associated with that, but hey — I wanted more!

Jeff Daniels is an amazing actor and I love the series. I wish this interview could have either taken place before he started to withdraw. If not, they could have handed him a drink ahead of time.

It was such a good show. I binged all 3 seasons in 2 days. I am so pissed Sorkin stopped because it was " too hard to write" .

Goddamn Daniels had something put in his forehead that just totally pulls focus. You can see how the producers notice too in how they switch off him every moment they get.

The first season was the best, (the second and third seasons weren't as good IMO since they followed these fake stories, I guess it felt like it took something away....maybe if they started with earlier events? They could have maybe had more time and more events to cover?)
